On a murky but warm day, we made our way into the lovely town of Sherbourne in order to revisit the Old Castle, which was one of the first places we decided to use our English Heritage passes and before I started this blog.
On a sunny Monday morning whilst everyone was driving to work, we were smugly packing a suitcase ready for a few days away. Only a couple of hours drive from Shaftesbury sits Dunster in Somerset, and dominating the scenery sits Dunster Castle.
A planned trip to Exmoor for Esras birthday and a chance sighting of an English Heritage brown sign at the side of the road. That is the situation which led us to discover Cleeve Abbey.
Its the first of April, do you know what that means? It means that all those monuments, castles and stately homes having closed for the winter, open again today..YAY!
