In January 2015 whilst playing a new online game I came across an American chappy. We started chatting in the games messaging feature and hit it off straight away. By March 2015 I was flying to Texas to meet with him for the first time and by December 2015 I had quit my job, sold everything I owned and was flying to the USA to spend 6 months with him.
During my time in America, as I was unable to work on a visitors visa, I spent my time blogging about the Cowboy and I, my time there and the places I visited. This was mainly for my friends and family back home, but I managed to gain a large readership. In May 2016 I returned to the UK and had to start again. Renting a house in Shaftesbury after getting a job within 2 weeks of landing in England.
It has been a tough journey and a manic one but despite its challenges I have had a lot of fun along the way. Esra left Ohio in October 2016 and moved to the UK. We married in January 2017. At his request I stopped blogging about our life together, our trials and tribulations, he felt after 2 years of spotlight it was now time for us to live more privately. I agreed.
I missed blogging. I missed writing a great deal and now we were travelling every weekend so I could show him the beauty of England, aside from Facebook and Instagram I had nowhere to share my enthusiasm or my photos. So this site was born. It is a very self indulgent blog and I apologise not one jot for it.
It may not be everyones cup of tea, and I get that, but it is a creative outlet for me and I hope to have readers who want to share in the beauty that Dorset and the surrounding counties has to offer. I also hope from my writings you may find something of interest to visit yourself.
More than that, it is a place for me to write about life in general. Settling in a different part of the country can be hard, finding new friends and making a life. The first few years of marriage can be hard also, especially when you are middle aged and set in your ways.
So jump aboard and join me for general ramblings and rantings and a few lovely photos.
